Field Service Eng. (Automation)

VLS GROUP INC. is a growing technology company servicing the Automotive, Consumer Goods and Steel industries. We have an immediate need for a self motivated and dynamic individual who thrives in solving complex manufacturing issues and problems.

Qualifications:
The Field Service Engineer – Automation and Controls will possess both technological and business skills. The ability to communicate with engineering as well as manufacturing clients is required and the desire to meet and work with people of different business backgrounds are essential qualifications.
Excellent communications skill, both written and verbal, in English are required. Requires frequent travel.

Specific Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, testing, preventive maintenance, and repair services of PLC Systems and Automation Controllers, VFD, Motion Control, Industrial and Electrical/ Electronic equipment, industrial networks and field devices and sensors.
Writing technical and activity reports. Providing status progress reports. Competent with MS Office and computer systems.
Provide phone support and at client site as required and be able to determine the most economical and efficient support approach to satisfy customers and create customer loyalty.
Work effectively in a fast paced self sufficient environment and be able to follow direction and instructions from project leaders and executive staff. Ability to maintain a positive and friendly attitude under stressful situations.
Responsible for standard field service documentation:
- Provides daily/weekly status reports to the project team.
- Provides a final report at the end of the visit which incorporates all work performed during the period on site.
- Transmit reports to Project Support Specialists to facilitate customer billing.

Experience:
The Field Service Engineer must have a diverse mechatronics technology background that includes customer interaction.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field with a preference for previous experience troubleshooting, commissioning, testing, installing and maintaining Industrial Automation and manufacturing systems .

Education:
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.

Mechanical Designer (Automation)

VLS GROUP INC. is a growing technology company servicing the Automotive, Consumer Goods and Steel industries. We have an immediate need for an energetic and seasoned individual with a proven track record.

Responsibilities:
Research, plan, and design automation machinery and systems.
Coordinate or support activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of custom mechanical or electromechanical systems.
Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal and specifications to determine design concepts and solutions.
Design custom systems for assembly, inspection, test, and packaging of medical and industrial products. Integrate part feeders, instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, pneumatic, or heat transfer systems.
Work in tandem with electrical and controls engineers to ensure the functionality and completeness of the design output.
Participate in project management tasks such as design reviews, status reporting, and team meetings.
Provide direction and support to the field service technicians.
Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
At least 5 years experience and Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.

Account Executive - (Business Development)

Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing departments.
Participate in project management tasks such as design reviews, status reporting, and team meetings.

Administrative Office Manager - (Bookkeeper)

We are currently looking to employ a full time Administrative Office Manager /Bookkeeper to join our team.

The successful candidate should have a positive attitude, stay calm under pressure and have the ability to work as part of a successful team.

Responsibility Outline:
• Act as first point of contact for all office visitors.
• Screening/handling correspondence, requests and phone calls.
• Sales support including lead generation.
• Support of ongoing projects as necessary including but not limited to research, planning and execution and orders tracking and follow-up.
• Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions and otherwise manage the books in Quickbooks from documents, such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
• Prepare ledgers and reconcile and balance accounts, make regular deposits, maintain files and manage petty cash; manage and monitor AR/AP and prepare payroll and tax filings; Manage banking transactions.
• Maintain historical records by filing documents.
• Prepare financial and any other reports as required.
• Other work that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:
• Achieved at least a Diploma in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years experience in bookkeeper and/or office administration.
• Computer literacy including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and strong planning, organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects and be flexible and work according to the needs of the organization and its stakeholders.

Wireman - (Controls Panel Builder)

VLS GROUP INC. is a growing technology company servicing the Automotive, Consumer Goods and Steel industries. We have an immediate need for an energetic and seasoned individual with a proven track record.

Qualifications:
The Controls Panel Builder will construct a wide variety of custom automation control systems, and must demonstrate mastery of industrial control wiring, panel fabrication and assembly. While repeat production does occur, the Builder must also be able to assume responsibility for creating one-of-a-kind control systems from schematic drawings, and a thorough understanding of best-practices and UL508a requirements. Individual initiative, a dedication to quality and a sense of pride in one's workmanship is critical. As a member of our production team, you will work cooperatively with other Builders, technicians, and engineers on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.

Specific Responsibilities:
Thorough familiarity with industrial control components and terminology
Functional understanding of UL508A and CSA C22.2 standards
Must be able to build directly from schematic drawings
Must be able to plan efficient and standards-compliant panel layouts
Preferably with 402A or 309A licence
Complete mastery of wire prep, crimping, soldering, red-line documentation
5+ Years of experience

Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instruction
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Must have reliable personal transportation
