Cooling Tower Control Panels

Our multinational industrial manufacturer of automation approached VLS Group to design and build a very specific type of control system for a cooling tower, to be installed at a Niagara region casino. The client had a very strict turnaround time of no more than 3 weeks, and the finished panel needed to be delivered over the winter holidays.

VLS was chosen specifically because of our track record for phenomenal craftsmanship and incredibly fast turnaround times. Our initial design drawings were approved quickly by our client, at which point we procured all necessary materials, fabricated the product and completed the Factory Acceptance Test with time left to spare. As such, VLS Group delivered on time, and on budget for the pleasure of our client.

Replacement Control Panels for OEM

A large original equipment manufacturer reached out to VLS Group for assistance with designing and producing electrical control panels. The OEM in question was plagued by service calls for defective controls out in the field. After giving the issue a thorough review, VLS identified that the client required additional services which were not sustainable in-house.

We immediately began with a completely new baseline to develop far superior replacement products. VLS Group succeeded in fabricating much more reliable and sturdy panels which reduced the number of the OEM’s control-related service calls by 98%. In addition, we also drafted and developed a finely-tuned engineering document management system for the extra benefit of our client.

Demo Unit for Automation Manufacturer

An industrial manufacturer of automation approached VLS Group for assistance with designing and building a demo unit to be used in their training facility, and for the benefit of sales reps and their clientele. This was due to our reputation for developing excellent demo units for other clients. Aesthetics played a major role in the design of this particular product, as well as user-friendliness. They also needed to be sturdy and durable to prevent damage during shipping and transport.

Utilizing SolidWorks 3D CAD software, VLS Group designed the end product and confirmed all measurements down to the precise millimeter, allowing our client to see a final model before moving to the production phase. The result was a massively successful product delivered to our client which exceeded expectations, and was lauded for its design and quality.

The Municipal Wastewater Bid

VLS Group was approached by a large wastewater OEM to assist them on a bid involving a large municipal project in the Greater Toronto Area. After reviewing all applicable tender documents, we worked closely with the OEM to present a winning proposal. Afterwards, our attention shifted to developing shop drawings for the client to review.

From there, we worked with the OEM to manufacture a number of control panels while developing several PLC and HMI programs, completing Factory Acceptance Tests, and commissioning a wider and more complete Site Acceptance Test. The client was ecstatic over the successful partnership between the OEM and VLS Group, which completed the project with exceedingly high standards, while remaining on time and budget.
